I like to use my hivis power pro in the 1 lb diam. 8 lb test for most all my fishing!! unless the water is really clear then, for me a 4 lb mono works well for crappies and gills!!
sometimes I just tip the braid with a mono.

I use the same line as Swamp Rat. I very rarely tip with mono.
