After some lengthy and hard thinking, I have decided to change the Mighty Muddy from an open tournament inviting the public, and a heck of a lot of work, to a members their Family and friends Catfish Derby like what we did out at the Ike's for our Pan Fish Derby.

Camping, and just plain enjoyment for the weekend

The big difference is those that worked the last tournament will be able to fish this along with the rest of the members and friends.

There will be some kind of entry fee for those participating with 100% payback to at least three places.

I suggest we run it for five hours from 7:00 A.M to 12:00 A.M. on Sept. 6th.

As usual there will be a fish fry Sat. PM and everyone can bring something.

There will be more on this as we get closer to Sept.

I am looking for ideas and suggestions on this as I think this will generate just as much publicity and perhaps some new members as the Tournament would have at a lot lower expense to WIF.

The dates will be the same for the camp in, Sept 5th, 6th, and 7th

Yes, anyone that wants to fish this is more than welcome.

We will be discussing how much everyone will be throwing in the Kitty for prize money. It don't make any difference if it is $5.00 or $25.00 per person but I think it should be 2 people per boat with a maximum of six fish 12" or longer.

Nothing fancy at the weigh in either with a fruit scale and bucket.

simpler the better schoe, allows more to take part in activities insted of haveing to "work" the whole weekend....sounds like a great idea I think 10 or 15 a person is a good fee, so that be $20 or 30 a boat and a 5 per person optional big fish pot!!

Hey I can handle running everything while all u guys fish. I will be there for the sign in and then for the weigh in, since I don't fish.
I am all for $10 per boat and I have ran many tournaments. Just let me know Schoe, if this is allright with you.

I liked the way you did it this time with the tournament early and the fry at 5-6. Gives time for everyone to rest up and all help for the dinner.

I will bring my fryer too and if Schoe brings the big stainless box for fish we can get more done faster with all the fish in the big and use two fryers for fries.

Now if Kenny brings his smoker, Joe his stove and Schoe the grill we will have a kitchen for the ages.

Catbird could bring the big skillet for breakfast.

Is it September yet?

P.S. Where is Eye's - how are the SKEETERS --- Schoe, I need one of the skeeter machines and some refills.

Joe, you weren't going to be replaced but with all the stuff you halled in last year I figured others could share the load this year. That goes for Schoe too. He brought his big smoker. I just was trying to get others to share the load so we all could have more time fishing. Now I wouldn't pass on you making some more of that great chilie for lunch Joe.

Hey guys!!! Lets all chip in and help and bring stuff so Schoe, Joe and Catbird can have some fun too!!! The cost of suppling all that Schoe brings is way to much. We all thank him but we need some volintears bring plastic wear, plates, napkins etc... We had 7 bags of chips at Geneseo and I don't think maybe one was opened. The cost of those chips would have paid for a box of forks or plates. I know Schoe doesn't mind and he doesn't want to be short or anyone to go home hungry but if some others carry the load on the supplies, food and drink and preporation it would be a big help. Gathering are for us all by us all and fun for ALL. Sorry I got on my soap box.

schoe to make it easier on yourself, I think it should be a bring your own utensils/plates type deal or maybe someone can bring all that stuff as there portion....we know theres always plenty of food to go around!!!!!!

Schoe, sounds good with the changes. I have been completely swamped lately with work stuff. Skeeter update- Great news there have been less mosquito's this year than the previous 3 years, lets hope that doesn't change in the next 2 weeks! B/N Schoe and the store there should be plenty of Thermacells for sale. The catfish bite is consistant, better than previous years at this time. Those that made cabin reservations last winter for this tournament make sure your deposits are made, deposits for each cabin are $100.00 refundable as long as everything checks out good. Screen-you will have a refrigerator/micro this year!! Anyone with park questions feel free to contact me. See you all in a couple weeks

i will bring my 2 friers ,gas and pots.. and a jug of grease if needed along with jalopeno and cheese deer suasage as stated earlier we have plenty left. and we will be there thursday after work to set up.don't know if we will stay as we both have ta work fri. morn. also i will bring some extra wood for the fires if some one needs it. mind ya candy needs a ton of fire wood. she burns wood while i fish. i may also need a partner to fish with i will have my boat just may need an anchormate:confused0024:. if we need ta bring anything else just let us know and we will see what we can do. we are sure fired up about this event had a blast at the geneseo get together. i am looking forward ta cooking fish again if it is o.k. and we will bring our beer batter stuff. i sure hope candy is o.k. with everything i promised....:confused0056: i just promise she supplies...gotta love her :party0045::party0045:

About the time I get home from the FCC it will be just in time to get my things ready for the Mighty Muddy just about two weeks from now.

The list on the preceding post probably won't be kept up to date until I get back on Sept. 1st at which time I will take care of it.

Well me and Goofy made it back from Fla. OK but a bit tired from the 20 hr. ride straight through.

It is hard telling how many will show up for the Mighty Muddy but no matter at all as those of us that do attend will have a good time.

Yes, I do have 2 plaques for each of the 3 places and one for the biggest fish. As far as I'm concerned the big fish award can go for any Catfish specie.

I plan on taking the Motor Home up on Thurs. and leaving it. Then drive back later that day with the Suburban and bring the boat.

If there is any others staying Thurs. PM I will also stay then otherwise I will come back Fri. AM.

Yes it is getting close once again but like we stated before we will keep it simple with a low key Derby on Sat. at 7:00 A.M.

WIF will provide 2 Plaques for each of the first three places and one for big fish.

Like last year we will have a fish fry and I will bring plenty of Bluegill fillets for that along with some Halibut chunks.

Ugh ohh...it might not be looking good for me to make it now!! Im going on a trip to the boundary waters for 15 days and leaving next saturday the 13th....we have a bunch of stuff that needs to be done before then and it looks like they may have planned the day to get together to get things taken care of saturday!!! I might try to get over there friday atleast to visit and maybe do some fishing though.
