lake vermillion 3/12 /08

got sent home from jury duty early nuff to hit the lake an try my outboard out for the first time this year.took a crappie rod too lol.water was muddy at the boat ramp so i headed towards the dam lookin for clearer water.got muddier that way so i went back upriver and found some halfway decent lookin water,for lake vermillion anyway lol....water temp was right around 41 degrees and visibility of 3 or 4 inches.caught 34 crappie in a couple hours in 6ft of water with the fish bout 4ft deep.was usin a 3 inch sassy shad on a long crappie rod.tried a 2inch tube but they just wanted to peck on it,when i got a hit on the bigger bait they slammed it.biggest one was only 12 inches with most goin tween 8 7/8 inches (gotta be 9 ta keep there) and 10inches...found tons of shad in the same spots an netted some fer the weekend......goin river runnin , flood or no flood lol.sposed ta be down a few feet then actually

Sounds like ya had a pretty productive trip checkin the motor out. Heck I think I done forgot how to fish been too long since I've been out to wet a line.

poop you beat me i got 31 today but all were over 10 inches and bout 20 small bass too

went again today.....bout the same as yesterday only they were runnin a lil bigger on average.very few lil ones,most were right at 11 inches with a few bigger an smaller.....nuther 50 fillets in the freezer lol........rivers still up an i jus dont care no more...goin river runnin in the mornin!!!!!!:icon_biggrin:

buddy jus called an said rivers got tons of junk floatin down it.not safe so gonna hit the lake again.
