Our annual Get Together at Ky. Lake is just around the corner. Just about four weeks away.
Giller and myself are trying to decide whether to leave a week early and go to Reel Foot lake for a few days prior and fish for Crappie or somewhere else . It seems the cold, windy, and rainy weather is usually present at that time of year which makes that a very hard lake to get out on when this occurs. My experience on two previous trips to Reel Foot proved this.
I realize this time period is after the major run of Crappies but Giller and myself love to fish for Bluegills, and they should be getting ready for their first spawn of the year with the full Moon approaching.
Some of the Southern Ill. lakes may be another choice.
If it looks like the weather is going to be bad we can always doddle a few days on the way home seeking somewhere to fish. Schoe
