View Full Version : Carp on the fly...They're tough that's why!
Do we have any other fly fishers on the forum who pursue carp. Let's see them. Is there an interest for an article or two concerning a "How to" tutoral about fly fishing for carp? If so, I would be glad to write a little. Here is a picture of one of my captures on the fly rod.

I am not a carp fisherman, but i have fished fer them!! Where my family camps at along the Rock River when the river is low we have a nice little eddy about 10 ft off the back of our camper, down a liitle bank. well come evening there tons of carp up there sucking the scum off the top, its weird seeing all the mouths up there, well heres what me a my buddy do, take our poles with no sinkers, just line and a treble hook with marshmallows and float them down to them!!! its kinda like fly fishing!!! its fun though and them fight like heck too!!!
Absolutly lets read some articles!!!

I would enjoy reading that. I can't imagine getting a decent carp on a fly rod:icon_cool:. It sounds challenging.:confused0024: We have a number of smaller carp a block from the house. (For you country folk that is only a couple rods). Mike

Yes Ray I know you catch them on artificial lures, Like the san juan worm, bread fly, wolly buggers, and one called the puck fly to name a few.
So carp will take artificial lures. Besides bait like dough balls
