I don't know how many of you are tackle junkies, but I think it is time to admit that I have a hopeless addiction to panfish poles. I just got a 9' 6" BP Micro Lite pole in the mail for the wife. Looks to be a sweet pole and she is anxoius to try it out. She uses and likes an 11' Outlaw rod, but we just have to try something different.
As with most, I went through the childhood using the glass or steel poles with cheap casting reels & braided line. I had a ball with them because it was all we had. These new set ups are a joy to catch fish with. I'm just amazed at the quality level of the rods that are being produced now. I have had thoughts of building my own rod ,and have a 3 wt. blank on hand, but other than the personal satisfaction I honestly think it would be a tough call to better the quality on the market.
Now if they would quite building all those BPS and Cabela's to lure me. :D Mike

i will be the first to admit i am one, cant seem to have enough, and i refuse
to throw anything away, old reels i keep for spare parts, and now things
wont interchange like they used to,rods i keep for tips and eyes, which,
i dont take the time to fix.i have started to repair some things now and
give them to kids in the neighbor hood that cant afford to buy any,i would
rather see them fishing, than out running the streets at night.and most of
all,it makes more room in the fishing storage area, just in case i find a rod
or reel that i KNOW will make me better fisherman,im down to 19 now,
last count i took, and all the newest lines that come out, then going back
to what i have always used.my worst problem is i cant just buy 1,to be
fair the wife always gets 1 also,i guess i can blame the large inventory
on her.:D

I just don't understand why all these new space age rods and reels don't catch more fish then the old cane pole and string with a bent up old safety pin my dad fixed up for me almost 50 years ago!!!

I'll be in the St .Louis Bass Pro on Monday. If I get out of there without a 6' Micro Lite it will be a miricle for sure. I'm pretty sure it would catch more fish than my 2 Micro Lite 7 1/2 foot or the pair of 8 1/2 footers. lol
The guy with the most boy toys at tip over is the WINNER! Mike

nosnag you have a very good point about needing our space, when we
lived up north, the garage was my tackle shop, and when winter came
the boat went in there and the car & truck set outside,a person has
to take care of there toys.
