Finally got out and broke in that new rod and reel combo from acadia!!
I tested the ES 300 Reel and a F series 6'6" MH spinning rod!!
This was my first test on an acadia reel, I already have a few rods spinning and casting!! This ES300 is a nice lookin reel, very slick and sharp lookin!! I am a catfisherman and blugill/crappie fisherman and thats about it, I have nothing bad to say about this reel, handled perfectly against every channel cat I brought in, between 2 poles had about 15 in hr/hr and a half, my other rod set up was an acadia 6" F series spinning rod and a cardnial reel I picked up at bass pro.
This reel handled very nice, very smooth retreive and it just felt sturdy in my hands!! wasnt to crazy about the wood grain type grip on the reel, but that can be overlooked very easy, Had it spooled with 12lb cajun red line, gammakatsu octopus circle hook and 1 1/2oz no roll sinkers!! For a catfisherman, this isnt something I would by if thats all I persued, this isnt one them reels you just toss around in the boat, like I said very sharp lookin!! but for you mutli-species like walleye, and bass, this thing is awsome, and I Highly reccomend you check into one if you havnt already!! comes with spare spool, and a very nice cloth reel cover to keep it lookin like new!!
A+ Across the boards here again acadia, thank you!!
