Finally got out and broke in that new rod and reel combo from acadia!!
I tested the ES 300 Reel and a F series 6'6" MH spinning rod!!
This was my first test on an acadia reel, I already have a few rods spinning and casting!! This ES300 is a nice lookin reel, very slick and sharp lookin!! I am a catfisherman and blugill/crappie fisherman and thats about it, I have nothing bad to say about this reel, handled perfectly against every channel cat I brought in, between 2 poles had about 15 in hr/hr and a half, my other rod set up was an acadia 6" F series spinning rod and a cardnial reel I picked up at bass pro.
This reel handled very nice, very smooth retreive and it just felt sturdy in my hands!! wasnt to crazy about the wood grain type grip on the reel, but that can be overlooked very easy, Had it spooled with 12lb cajun red line, gammakatsu octopus circle hook and 1 1/2oz no roll sinkers!! For a catfisherman, this isnt something I would by if thats all I persued, this isnt one them reels you just toss around in the boat, like I said very sharp lookin!! but for you mutli-species like walleye, and bass, this thing is awsome, and I Highly reccomend you check into one if you havnt already!! comes with spare spool, and a very nice cloth reel cover to keep it lookin like new!!
A+ Across the boards here again acadia, thank you!!

Nice job on the fishing Jason and I'm sure Lee from Acadia will be happy about your report.

I'm out in Neb. now for a few days and am looking for a place to wet a line. My 3 day $25.00 license starts tomorrow. Schoe

well have fun out there!! was a great day outside here today!!!60s and sunny!!! Thanks again Schoe!!
Ive talked to lee a couple times, he knows his products are well supported on the WIF site and he appreciates all the feedback he can get about there equipment!!
So if anyone else has ever purchased any acadia products be sure to post up a review!! Our feedback tells the company what direction to go, or what needs to improved!! They have terrific rods and reels, never seen any of there other products but I bet there justas great as there rods and reels!!
I have full confidence in pushing these tackle items to there max and having them perform wth outstanding results!!!

My future purchase will be the lighter action and replace some of my aging crappie/blugill rods and reels!!!

Sounds like you were hot on those cats today!!
Interesting you brought up the beautifull wood handle on the Acadia. I used an ES300 and that is the only thing I didn't care for .That type wood grip is only found on the high end reels, and looks sharp but not my cup of tea.
I have a Shimano Stradic that came with that fancifull type handle and I swapped it out for a handle off a cheaper Shimano.
You'll enjoy the Acadia though . Light, oh so smooth, and just "feels" right. Mike

Mark I have 2 spinin rods and 2 bait casters rods, and one es300 reel, you are more than welcome to take em and test em if youd like. mine are aill the f series which is the cheaper of the 2 series, think its F and P is the 2, they are great rods, been out a couple times and this reel is really growing on me, like it a ton!! great matchup on a 6 1/2 ft MH rod!!!
