We recently covered your "favorite catfishing reel", so now lets cover line. I personally prefer two different types. I like mono for open water, and braided for the small ponds and lakes full of weeds. If I have to choose one, it would be the Solar Green Big Game line of mono.

If i had to choose a line it would be 10lb. Power Pro braid. Thats the best line i have found and i love it. I use it on all my poles except my catfish poles which i still use 14lb. stren.

I mostly chase after large catfish so I like tend to use dacron braid. Basically anything that looks like clothes line. :icon_biggrin:
I've tried a few of the super braids but don't particularly care for them. If using mono it is always big game for me.

Power pro 8 lb hi vis.
Decided to try light mono for open water gills.. Got Yo Zuri Hybrid 2 lb. simply because it came with more yds. on a spool and wasn't sure how much I needed to finish filling a spool:confused0024:.Got lucky, It is good tough mono with hardly any coil. Mike

Used Stren Mono for years from 4lb. to 20lb.. Spooled up my catfish rods with Ande 15lb. pink and our panfish equipment with Ande 4lb. pink. Looks and feels good on the spools but I will let you know later on how it proves out fishing it.
