This is a little late but oh well,
well I just spent the day fishin with Matt(catmatt). I had a great time!! A huge thanks for the great day!! I would highly reccomend you checkin into spending a day on the rock with catmatt!!! hearing him speak of tricks and trips at his seminar is one thing, but being one to one on the river, having him show you what he knows and learned through many yrs of fishing is fantastic. He loves to share his knowledge!!
We started off the day at the ramp of the rock river which was flooded over into the parking lot!! he decided we head to clinton,IA to the mississ river, well he poked around a few spots and tried for some fresh bait with no luck. around 1100 he decided we head back to the rock to catch some fish!!
back to the flooded ramp we were, well my first launching in a parking lot...aka..."theres a boat ramp at the end of the parking lot".. was a sucess, and we were off,was a slow putt around as we didnt want to send wake up into some yards along the river, he picked a few known areas, and we were fishin, redworms, dip bait,shad..we had it all!! fished a few different locations, with the river being in flood stage was terrible to get a good location to anchor and be able to fish, had the current that flow 6 different ways in a 10 minute period and then you throw in the wind..it was great!!! we ended the day, shortly after 5 or so, I took me 4 eater channel cats home for dinner, and they were delicious!! All in all was a extreme tuff day to fish with the river in the condition it was in and my first time fishing flooded water like that!!, and I wouldnt have even wet a line if it wasnt fer him and the knowledge he has to catch fish!!! thanks again!!
