went ta the river first thing this mornin....couldnt net any shad fer nuthin...got one small flathead but had my heart set on blues so loaded up,stopped by home an grabbed the crappie gear an went back to the lake.cold front sure didnt seem to bother the fish much. right off the boat ramp a ways i nailed the first keeper at 3lbs and managed to get 7 more keepers and a bunch of shorts fore we were dun...same tactics as yesterday with the cranks and jigs.
had the middle boy with me and he outfished me again lol....least on crappie when he finally got the hang of jig a bobbin he was tearin em up..they were hittin a chart. 2 inch tube under a bobber and i was verticall jiggin again.they wont even touch a smaller bait right now for some reason.we were fishing scattered brush on the first dropoff in 2 to 3 ft of water but the boy caught some real nice females off the drop suspended in 6 to 8ft of water.had 1 limit of 25 in bout an hour and a half.netted some shad and got a few gills so gonna try river runnin tommorrow lol
