My Daughter and her boyfriend invited me to go with them on their pontoon boat Saturday. There was a bass tourny goin on at the river so we had trouble findin a place to launch. I've never seen the river so busy. We cruised around and watched some of the guys catchin bass till it was weigh in time and they all hauled axx to the ramp at Dunellon. It was like watchin a bass boat race there for a while. :icon_razz: After things settled down we started workin the edges of weed matts with curly tail jigs and "Maki Micro Plastics" on tiny 1/32 oz. jigs. Seems like everytime we stopped and fished we caught a few big shellcrackers and bullgills. I guess all the boat traffic got em stirred up. We ended up with around 40 hand sized bream. We where about five miles from the ramp when it got dark. Thats when we found out the lights didn't work and my daughter Lisa forgot to bring the gear bag with the flashlights and skeeter repellant. While Lisa's boyfriend worked on the wireing I baited up with chunks of hotdog and caught a dozen big fat bullheads and one huge mudfish (bowfin). We got the rear nav. light and a old foglight to work. So we headed back to the ramp with the fog light showin the way. :confused0018:
The fishin part of the trip was great but the boat is gonna need some repairs on the elec. system before the next cruise. :icon_mad:
