I was able to get out this past weekend and do some fishing on a special spots that I have found for big gills. It is a shore only spot so the weeds grow up fairly quick and then you can't reach the fish anymore. So I decided to fish this place first before I can't get these big gills anymore. I searched for about 2 hours on Saturday before I finally located some on the northwest side. I managed to catch 21 bluegills of all different sizes. I felt pretty good about the possibilities for a trip back on Sunday. I thought that I had found a good spot that I could return to and get into more of the bullgill action. When I got there on Sunday I found that the fish were not where they were the day before. It started to make me wonder where could they be now? I focused my attention to the northside of the pond and I managed to catch 15 more fish. I felt very fortunate to find some fish and be able to take home a total of 17 nice big gills for the weekend. I felt optomistic about the promise of better days ahead as the fish have not yet moved into thier traditional spawning areas and were out deeper.

It was a nice start to my springtime adventures. The bite on T.H.E. JIG told me that they wanted it small and visible in the stained water. I love being able to change up with T.H.E. JIG and give the fish what they want.

Cory, looks like you had a ball with those pan-fish.

Did you use the jigs naked or did you tip them with a wax worm? Schoe
