Reading through the posts here brought an idea to mind. Everyone that I fish with has a special person who has introduced them to this great sport called fishing. For some of us "less than younger" anglers our mentors have passed on. Never-the-less somehow they live within our hearts. Let us dedicate at least one (if not more) fishing trip per year to personally thank that person for taking the time to show us how to fish.
Like I have mentioned for me it was my father and he has passed away about 11 years ago now, but I know that he is still with me in my heart and that we do communicate. There are times when he smiles down on me, times that he gives me that all too familiar look that only I know what it means and times he still questions me for doing something stupid. Thanks dad for taking me fishing! I'll continue to try to make you proud and pass this sport on to as many that want to learn as I did.
