Some Great Gill Action

The temperatures are finally becoming more stable and the fishing has picked up the past couple of weeks. With the temps. in the mid 70's, the water has warmed up enough for the fish to start coming into the swallows. The action was not fast and furious but steady enough to keep me from second guessing myself. I was fishing slow, just letting the bobber sit, out in about 8-12 feet of water that is somewhat stained. I searched a lot of water and the results were pretty satisfying. I have been pleasantly surprised by the sure numbers of these quality gills.

The fun of catching these gills brought back a lot of childhood memories with my father and my first experiences fishing.

Those are beautiful fish, VERY nice gills
Think that bout everyone I know learned the fun of fishing from gills, (sure do remember farm ponds, 10foot dacron line wrapped up on bamboo pole :icon_biggrin:

An for me, taking the grands out and fishing for those gills is still the finest
kind of day there is, hard to beat good "gillin on some nice UL gear

I just think to take 2 young girls out and teach them how to use that gear and then get them rearing with a meatless presentation is the cat's AZZ!
