I too received my test rod on Tues. By all appearances it should do the trick for me fishing for Walleyes and Channel Cats however, having some backbone I think I will pair it up with one of my ES 100 Acadia Reels loaded with 6 Lb. line to use on bedding Bluegills this afternoon. It should show it's sensitivity to the feel with the static bumps that a Gill gives when hitting a chunk of Night Crawler which has invaded their nursery. And with the stiffness of this rod I should be able to hoist the fish up on top of the massive weed beds where I plan on going today.
Then in the next few days I will apply a ES 300 with 12 Lb. test line and give the Channel Cats a go.
Like a couple of others have mentioned I too miss the hook eye at the base of the rod shaft.
