hit the lake today with a floating rattle trap tied to the 1000 and a 200 series bandit on the 3000,also had the acadia 7ft medhvy rod paired to the 3000.
1000....performed very well..caught at least a dozen bass in a half hour with it making long casts into the wind.no problems with the magnetics after a few adjustments,seems the issue with the fine tuning on it was due to being brand new.when the drag was run out fighting a fish it was extremely smooth.much smoother than my other reels.
3000....also performed well,i was able to make extremely long casts with the crankbait.still havent had to adjust the magnetics on this reel because of the wider spool,im able to feather the spool very easily.
both reels the baitclick is very quiet and the drag has to be set a little differently than normal.has to be set too tight by my normal method of drag setting to be tight enough....still wondering if its due to newness or the braid or a combination of both?
taking both reels runnin the river tommorrow.ive put 3 1/2 to 4 hours of use on both so they should be broken in somewhat .im going to try and put a little hurt on them with some big fish now
