nice day

A small group of us had a nice day in the sun. the group included the daughter, wife myself and the neighber man and his 4 year old grandson.

was a fairly nice day weather wise mid 80's sun shinin and a small breeze. we desided to go to a local farm pond where i thought the gills would be tearin things up. much to my dismay the doggone gills acted like they had lock jaw. we did manage enough for a taste.

The farm owner was busy waterin all his new trees around the farm, but his fish helpin dog was there. the dog was in the water chasin around the gills that are on there beds, i didn't get a pic of the gills on there beds but there is a tun of them, and i believe they are the females gettin ready to drop there eggs.

LOL mike that dog is a real treat until ya pull in a fish then she's right there tryin to help ya get the fish in. or ifn ya have a bucket she'll take a fish out of it for ya.:confused0068:

I just hope that little feller will come fishin with me again, he had a blast. I even cooked them up last nite and took some over to them. he really enjoyed the fish. very well mannored young'n.

Great to be able to take kids fishing to a well maintained pond, farm or otrherwise, such as that.

LOL dave ya know me well huh. I usually don't catch any fish any ways. but i did happen to catch "mr wiskers" but handed the rod over to the 4 year old. the wife did catch a nice 3-4 pounder. and the bass are getting up in the 3 pound range besides all the smaller ones closer to 1 pound i'm just waitin for the gills to start hittin really good so i can take that little guy out again and turn him loose. I wouldn't mind havin that little fella catch til he gets bored.

i furgot to mention i was usin my new rod a micro lite 9.5 foot bp spooled with 10 # power pro

I love to take kids but, I know its for them and I am just a helper.

June 20th I am taking some church boys on an overnite camping/fishing then, the girls for the same.

I am trying to decide if I should even take a pole for me! LOL :confused0068:
