Sherry and I fished Rathbun on Mon-Wed this week. Camped and fished. Crappies we caught we had to hit in the head to get them to bite. Catfish were up eating eggs and we had some very exciting catches on our ultra lites. Lake is eight feet high and so full of sediment that it looks like chocolate milk coming off the prop. All-in-all we had a good time. Our camping neighbor was shore fishing for catfish. He was doing all-right but, I gave him some G&S and some dip worms and I think he is going to have rent a locker when he gets home. Nice folks. Make the best dutch oven peach cobbler-----OH BOY!

Definitely a good trade, bait for cobbler!
Rathbun is a lake I have fished but not real familiar with it, my bro in law knows it pretty good
I do know that up to couple years ago he was getting on some of the biggest crappies I have ever seen in terms of a 'stringer"
Lake has very good walleye fishing as well

That Rathbun can be a good lake but there are times when it all but shuts down. That has been my experiance with crappie in general.:confused0024::confused0024: Mike
