An article in Wednesday's Dispatch noted that the DNR saved ninety trapped flathead from a flood pool. They had moved in during the Saylorville flooding and got trapped. The DNR went in and captured the fish and put them back into the Des Moines River system. Some of the fish were in the thirty to forty pound range. Showed pictures of two very nice fish. Thanks to the DNR these fine trophy bloodlines will continue to reproduce.

Good hear they were on top of the situation and did what they did. Would have been a shame to see all those flatheads die in there!

Believe it or not folks, the vast majority of DNR staff I have run across here in Indiana are hard fishermen and hunters themselves. They can give a lot advice and most work very hard.........
