Since I have been laid up with a broken ankle, I had to adjust my tying area to fit the situation. I am supposed to keep my ankle above the level of my heart to keep swelling down.
I've been catching up on some of my tying so I can be at the ready when I can get about better. I'm adding a few pictures of some jigs I've tied while sitting around and more importantly a new to me fly for terrorizing those gills with the fly rod.
This fly is named the " Jon's Generic" A google or search of your choice will bring forth all the details. It is a simple, but time consuming tie compared to the hair jigs.
This is the first fly that I have ever seen that I knew would be a good one without even getting one wet. I have passed on a few already and it is drawing rave reviews. When I ordered the materials from my supplier I told him to try the pattern. He contacted me and said it is a "great pattern" Two nice gills in the first two casts when his regular patterns wouldn't produce:icon_cool::icon_cool::icon_cool:. The good doctor that operated on my ankle is taking a few to Alaska next week.:icon_cool::icon_cool::icon_cool: .If this works out right I have a closeup of this fine pattern.
I would like to extend a big "Thank You"and "ATTABOY" To Jon Hazen from Salem Oregon for working out this pattern and being kind enough to share it online:icon_cool::icon_cool::icon_cool::icon_cool: :icon_cool:. Mike
