the new rod rms-662-mh failed in a real bad way. straight out of the box looked good felt good (alittle tight and stiff all the way threw),but the handle hit me good in the forearm like i like for fighting fish.the reel seat fit the the shimano sedona 2000fa. wich by the way i have over abused for years by spooling with 12#test and hogging many fish over 8-15# in heavy current on. it is rated for 100 yard of 10#test a small reel for for this rod. like i mentioned before had a small problem right out of the box with the meatal ring on top of the reel seat. i do have pics of that and the after math of the rod after the first five minutes of use. the rod EXPLODED four to five inches of rod gone atleast on the hook set of a 1n1/2# freshwater drum.right in the center of the rod where the 2 pcs. come toghether(one reason i have always been against 2pc rods)besides sensitivety.we will get the pics posted of the problems and the fish that caused them.sorry again lee.was looking forward to a long test review.this in no way will reflect on my further thoughts of purchasing your products.as anyone that has the :confused0056: ta put it on the line with real fishermen and women like acadia has,has ALL MY RESPECT.may not seem like much to many people but word gets out and you at acadia have nothing but my best.keep up the good work and looking forward to helping out again if asked.

well that is the reason we have them first. would be real bad to have paid for one and had it do that.which by the way i have done nothing worse than buying a new rod n reel for a fishing trip and have it break on the first fish.with the closest place to buy a new one with out getting soaked is 2 hours away lol

One good thing bout the Acadia, is that if it did happen to ya they would replace it with no questions asked soon as you let them know about it
Looking at the initial second go around with these rods am hoping that what happened here was "one of those things"
Will know more when the rest of the testers start hammering on them rods

well had a well thought out even typed out reply but lost it so here is the short version.you r absolutly right tim.never can tell buy a new truck and get the only one off the line with hiccups.this is not the only rod i have had that broke on the first hook set.one that stands out cost me plenty in lost time on the water and extra time on the road because i refused to pay the price at a convient "baitshop" drove over an hour to buy a replacement then fought to get the broken one replaced:confused0068:. candy swears she will down load pics for me in the a.m. we (she) has been real busy with the kids leaving for college this weekend. the tourney coming up for my uncle and all. promise we will get pics up.

That looks almost identical to what happened to the first rod I tested - the 6' MH 1 Piece. In addition to the breakage, I had the same issue with that ring coming dislodged.

Its a bummer that it happened to atleast marks rod so far but that is why we are testing them right? Only one way to work the kinks out of these rods and make them as good as their potential is to test them and break whatever possible! Thanks for the pics and post.
