Went fishing

Our son came down from Amboy yesterday and he, the wife and I went to Starved Rock at Lookout point (I think it is called). It is located on 71 coming from Ottawa just past the park sign. I threw the cast net in Ottawa and got only about 6 shad which was good as we only used one for bait. Only had a couple of bites no hook ups. It is going to get better. While we were fishing a DNR Officer drove up and checked us out. After he found out I was from Marseilles he asked why we were there and not at LaSalle Lake. He said they were catching blues over 20 lbs. He saw several catches and they were killing them out there. Story of my live, wrong time wrong place.

Grey Wolf, glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has ever been in that position. That's the way it goes sometimes but at least you were able to get out and enjoy the day. Kirk is right you were at the right place just the wrong time....Ray

gray wolf you were the right place and so lucky to be able to spend some time with your son and his wife my son is up in Canada and i dont get to see him or his family and sure miss them it would be the right place just to be in the boat trying to get a bite the mohawk
