Been a very busy year so far. Finally have all the transplanting done, yard cleaned up, fertilizing done, and grass cut.
Tomorrow mng. I'm having surgery done for cataracts in the right eye. After that is done I plan on getting back on the Suwannee and nailing some channels.Bait is back in the shallow water, so I'll be giving it a go for some flatheads too. Had a old time Cracker give me some advise of where I can do some fishing for blues in the area too.
Believe me , I'm straining at the bit. I want to give my two new Okuma heavy duty rigs a chance to show me what they're made of. Now if the petrol would just come down a tad. No matter,it is now a choice of do or bust.

Good afternoon brothers and sisters,
Good news and bad news.
Good news : Surgery went fine with no problems. The Dr. took off the guard and bandages today ,and my eyesight in the eye went from 20/85 to 20/25 within eighteen hours. He fully expects it to regain 20/20 vision within three weeks.
Bad news : No tilting my head to a horizontal angle down,no straining physical activities,no fast head movements, and no jarring of the head, for the next three weeks.
I'll just be watching TV and be on the puter for that duration,I guess. I did'nt think the healing period would be that long.Just giving the fish a chance to gain more weight till I can chase them again.
Guess I'll have to leave the fishing part to you fellas for the next three weeks. I'll leave with these few words to you. "Go get 'em and give them what for."

Thanks for the encouragement everyone.
Hey big country,You insinuating that I only get fish that you need eyeglasses to see?:p I resemble that remark.:D
I was starting to get used to tieing on my hooks with the braile method. Now I will be able to aim the line at the eye of the hook.
Really gets you thinking of how precious a persons eyesight and hearing is. It gives me a lot more respect to those who have overcome those obstacles in their lives. God bless them. We take so much for granted.

bill i was not insiuating anything about the size of fish you catch cause i have not fished with you yet....(yet)...lol
but if you are feeling guilty i apologize...hehehe
on the serious note yes a lot people do take for granted there hearing and vision,i for one knows what it's like not to be able to hearcrap half the dang time but i'm starting to read lips more and more it seems(but let a deer step on a twig at 40 yards and i can here that,go figuire)...lol
i had some reconstructed surgery done to my right ear about four years ago and it didn't help, then the dr. wanted to do my left ear and i told him to pack sand..they tell me i need to have a set of hearing aids, but at 1800 dollars a piece i just keep on saying huh, what, can you say that again.....hehehe

BILL
At age 23 i had shingles on my face going thru my left eye, leaving a
scar on the eye, leaving just a small area for light to get in,the doctors
said it was permanant damage, for some unkown reason my vison in that
eye slowly returned, one day i realized i can see, went to the doctor and
he couldnt belive it,that it healed on its own,it is not going to fully
recover,it was hard getting used to depth perception, and the only thing
that bothers me now is bright lite in that eye,i dont drive at night if
i can help it,but thats a small price to pay to for having a miracle happen,
when you get used to casting useing one eye,and driving with one eye
and everything changes,it is a learning experience,im not going to question
how it repaired its self, just enjoy every thing that it has given me.AMEN

:D Hey John,
I know what you mean about "huh". I used to rivet the jet engine housings at P&WA . Nothing like being in a hollow steel tube backing up rivets. I did get hearing aids courtesy of the shop. They are around here somewhere. I just could'nt get used to them.Hard to understand someone when there is background noise, without them. Still must hear better than you in the woods though. When only the woods sounds are around me when I bowhunt,I even hear the mice and voles moving under the leaves.Deer breaking a twig at 40 yds. sounds like an explosion. I think we country boys just learn to tune in when we are out hunting.I've lived in the city for two years and darned near went crazy with all the constant noise pollution.
Kirk,
That is a inspiring story.Someone up there was looking after you. Sometimes the medicos' ca'nt explain how things reverse, that they think are incurable.Let the truth be known, that miracles do happen more than a lot of people think.
I'm hoping that those trees wo'nt be reaching out as much for my line after this last fix. Seems that I was doing a lot of air fishing this past year. I tried to explain it away by saying that from the looks of the trees ,a lot of guys were fishing up there.:p A lot of lines and bobbers up there.
Definately have to fish and stretch some truths with you guys sometime. I think it would be a blast.
Have a great day and a better tomorrow.

I can sympathize with you fellas with this problem. After working in a noisy factory and playing in a band for years my hearing is about half of what it should be. It does get irritating and I miss out on a lot of a conversation because I don't want to let on like I didn't hear what was said. My problem in the woods is not being able to tell what direction the noise is coming from.
I am contemplating getting the proper aids as my hearing isn't getting any better. Schoe
