looks like 2 separate fish to me.
second one is lots bigger than the first across the head.

I agree, the first one was probly in the 44-46" range and pushing 22-25lbs. That second fish is definitely a monster, even with the gills flared out making its head bigger. That one was probly mid-50's for length and going well over 30lbs, more than likely pushing 40. When I was in northern Wisconsin last year me and my friend saw a giant log in the water that turned out to be a musky sunning itself, it was definitely a 50" class fish and was in the neighborhood of 30-35lbs. Havent seen many musky, but it was definitely the fattest musky I have ever seen. Speaking of which I had a friend call me from that northern Wisconsin area telling me he caught a 40"er while reeling in a bass on his medium action rod, guess it was about a 15 minute fight or so.
