I guess this post is mostly directed to Soupy. Are you close to the West Kentucky old Peabody strip mines? I have heard grand stories of some slab gills being taken from them. I would imagine that like most cases, one would have to know pretty much which ones to go to.:rolleyes: :rolleyes: Mike

Mike...Sorry.. I just found this post.. To start with ..I'm in North Western KY on the Ohio River. Most Peabody Mines around me are underground.. The strip mines you are referring to are eat of me about 50 to 60 miles.. I haven't fished in them because I'm not a pond fisherman, I do the river mostly but, I have worked with guys that do fish them and most of the stories you hear about them are true ! Great places to get the slabs.
