this fish was hooked in the tail, and fought for about 30 minutes. The one holding it was who cought it. We tried to weight it but the scales maxed out at 50.10 lbs and then cut off. It came out of a pound that is no bigger then the average persons house. We have seen it in there for years, just that nobody has ever cought it before. I would really like to know what it is.http://www.whereifish.com/thepond/http://img461.imageshack.us/img461/1745/untitled25pt7jc.png (http://imageshack.us)

No scales, Sounds like a catfish. I'm not familier with the fish in your area. There are some pretty smart members on here and I'm sure as soon as they wake up they will have your answer...lol

Laydown2000,
Welcome to the site.Definately not a catfish. No dorsal or pectoral spines. It does look like a member of the carp family. There are mirror carp that do'nt have any of the characterized mirror scales. These are called leather carp.
I believe that is what this fisherman is holding. They do exceed 60 #.You can go to http://www.specialist-tackle.co.uk/gallery.php3?catid=2&offset=112 to view pictures of them. This one would indeed be a trophy anywhere.

BILLmirror and leather carp all have smaller mouths and their belly is bulging out like a pregnant chick, also mirror carp has random scales and looks like it's sick because of that. thank you all for the welcome:)

I cannot see the head of it clearly... is that some kind of foreign albino cat? Any barbels? Mekong cat? LOL
I dont think it is the leather carp...
It ceartainly doesnt look like a koi.... and I am not sure of the carp family either.
What it probably is is some aquarium fish from some odd far off land that was dropped there and survived and grew and grew and grew. lol
