Ray Clark, "Rainman", and myself finally broke the ice on the string of bad luck I was having with the Rock River catfishing. Two previous trips this spring didn't bring so much as a bite on my favorite river.
I think one mistake I had made was to rely on the one bait that I have always had the best luck using, Chicken Livers. I'm sure glad that Ray brought along some Night Crawlers or we would possibly had another bad luck day because the livers and and the shrimp I brought along only produced one fish with the worms accounted for around 20 small sized fddlers which a few were big enough to provide a couple of nice meals.
Another nice suprise was a 10 Lb. Buffalo that was a lot of fun landing on a Med. action ultralight Spinning rod. He actually hit a chunk of worm which is very unusual. This fish made one of my neighbors very happy as she loves fryed Buffalo.
So the day ended up very well as we had a good day of fishing and companionship. Schoe
