I am new to saltwater / deep sea fishing. How far out of Fort Lauderdale does one typically have to go to start catching good wahoo? Thanks

Charles, best thing to do is check with your local bait n tackle shops
or talk to some of the charter boat operators and local fishermen they
should be able to set you on the right track, what kind of boat do you
have?? and how long is it,did you just move there??what kind of fishing
have you been doing?? we do have some saltwater fishermen on the site
and a couple of them live over your way.:) KIRK

Just bought a boat - 2600 Century open fisherman center console. I am entirely new to fishing, especially deep sea fishing. I have a 6 year old boy who seems to love fishing, so I am eager to learn as quickly as possible.

That is a nice boat and big enough to be fairly safe in,does it have a marine
radio and all the saftey equipment that you need,I dont know if this is
your first boat or not,or how much experience you have on the water,my
advice is if you are new to boating, study the book on boating on florida
waters,it has a lot of information that a person needs to know.Take that
6 year old fishing every chance you get and he will learn as he grows.
Good Luck, and above all be Careful, the water is beautiful but it can
become your worst nightmare real quick.KIRK

Hey Mohawk,
Some people here in Fl. do'nt get the program on their TV's.Same info is on the internet, and it's free.Best of all it is kept up to date where others are'nt.
Now we need a good place to visit for inland fishing like that.I guess I can dream,ca'nt I ? Best publication is "Woods 'N Water" for that info.Florida edition.www.woodsnwater.net (http://www.woodsnwater.net)
