How many of you use the "superlines"?
I have been using the Fireline- Flame Green, 8lb 3lb dia. I don't really agree on the diameter rating, but have had no problem with panfish shying away from it that I have noticed. It took me a while to get used to the idea of no stretch, but it has been invaluable for getting back the jigs I use. Both my grandsons are hooked on it. I tried the Power Pro 4 lb. and had too many problems with tip wrap on my 12 B&M rod. I did not have the same problem with the Fireline. I'm thinking that it may be that Fireline is flat and the Power Pro is round. Mike

I use the Power Pro products and have no problems with them. I have it on both my baitcasters and my spinning reels. I also like the original Spider Wire Braid. Now you do have to keep that Stren braid away from my reels, it was nothing but trouble.

I use Stren braid. I don't even know if you can find it anymore. It's a round braid and it won't hurt your guides. I like it on my baitcaster like for bass and pike. But, I'm staying with heavy mono for my big cat rigs. I like the braid for being able to rip through the weeds and reeds when you get hung up a bit.

Keep your fingers away though, if a fish takes a big fast run on you. Braid cuts like a razor!!

i use that fireline on my reel and that stuff is super strong. if u get hung up on somethen and have the right kind of knot tide on the hook that stuff aint breaken i have to get a knife and cut it. that stuff works like a charm for me.

has anybody tried usen that fireline on a ultra light. i thought about buyen some of the smallest pound test line they make in that stuff and stringen up my ultra light with it

catfishsteve, Keep a short piece of wood with you . When you get hung up just take a few wraps on the stick and pull it free without cutting your hand. Holding your spool to prevent it from turning works too, but line will ocasionally bite into the rest of the line if it is not wound tight.
Bamabass, Superlines work great on ultra-light spinning reels. I use Fireline 8lb 3lb dia. and it works great. :D

bamabass i use it on everything from big cat rods to ice fishin rods. if ya get hung grab your spool to keep the drag from slippin and give a short hard pop of the rod and reel. gotta be pointed right at it and watch your fingers lol.

Bamabass, I think you will be pleased with superline on ultra lights. If you use the small spool ultralight reels, you will REALLY like it. With the Fireline I happen to like ,I got rid of the constant line twist problems. My grandsons like the Power Pro 4# but they use the shorter rods.
Another note, I use the flame green so I can see the line better. I have had no problems yet with it spooking the fish. Mike

I started using 6# test mono and had a terrible problem with line twists. My boyfriend used fireline and it kept snapping but I had no problem with it. I tie a different kind of knot though. I bought some power pro and put it on and love it. I don't have any problems....unless I accidentally cast into the wind!
