My uncle and I are planning on going fishing in Lake George next weekend and I was wondering would it be better to rent a boat to go out there and fish on or to fish for muskies off shore? Also what type of bait would be the best to use and where is a good spot on the lake.

Hey Cass, I have never personally tried it but an old friend of mine used to fish Lake George quite often and used live Suckers and the largest Creek Chubs he could find. He had a way that he sewed them on a hook so they would swim naturally about 4 to 5 ft. under a large enough bobber to stay afloat. When he had a hit he would let them run till it stopped and then set the hook. There is only one draw back to this method and that is that you stand to kill the fish because the bait is usually in the process of being swallowed and being severely injured from the hook set.

I'm sure there is someone out there that knows more about Musky fishing that can help us out. Thanks, Schoe

I usuallt opt for a white bucktail spinner like a meps muskie killer or a vibrax basicly you want to stay in the white to yellow flavor lures because the main forage is shad in george. Try the spill way and the stump field. Good luck.
