It's almost that time again, I've heard my dad talking alot about going froggin. I love to go, but I think its best I just hold the flashlight ;)

I need to get out the regulations and see how severe the limits are on frogs. My grandsons got a couple the other day that I posted in the gallery. Annie told me how to move one to the forum by the cut and paste but didn't tell me what brand of paste to use .

As soon as the water depth goes down below the grassline on the rivers we will begin our quest for those water hoppers. Its too hard to see them up in the tall grasses so I like to wait until there is a bare mud bank so on a real hot night they like to come out of the grass and sit along the edge of the water an dmake it much easier for one to come up with a limit. swampman is the best frog hunter ever(thats how i got my nickname swampman) i have two frog gigs and a 70 pound fishing crossbow that works on turtles and snakes and gar as well as frogs. i like to use a fifty million candle power thor spotlight and asmall hand net. if that dont work a good ol quarter stick in a big puddle works fine the ones that arent dead swim right out in big circles like their shell shocked. i get a bucketfull about this time o year and catch the big cats that no one else can because they suspend about a metre from bottom. if you cant get live ones a pellet pistol with hollow points works hella good! if yall are good ill tell you the story about catchin a twelve pound catfish on a live squirrel(may have drowned but it was alive when i started)............

well. I and my two grandsons started off the froggin already. We went in broad daylight and got 18 decent ones on a local river. Was a good time and looking forward to some yummy fried leggs. They are all hopped up now and want to get out tonight if I can cobble up some legal lights. Mike

I put a couple more pictures on the galleries, but that is as far as I can get now.
We went out again last night but we were not comfortable with all the snags and current in the dark with the poor lights we had, so gave it up as a poor idea. Mike

Well Fatcat, what do ya think? I bet you and I could sit down to 10 Lbs. of those succulent frog legs and annihilate them with no problem. Schoe

Thank you Annie for posting the kids pics. They both enjoy getting out on the water in search of a mess of "croakers". They are rearing to get out for another daylight go at them. The frogs can get pretty spooky in the daytime. Mike
