The last couple of times I've been out doing my bank pole thing on the Rock I talked to a couple of Bass fishermen about how they had been doing on the river and both seemed excited about their results.

The one fella indicated that he had caught several Large and Small mouth up to 3-4 lbs. and lots of smaller ones.

I asked one of the guys if he ever caught any northern pike and he said no but either him or a friend did catch a 6 lb. walleye. Nice huh!!?

Let us know how you are doing. Schoe

This really needs to be updated. I will do my part to keep an updated report on the Mississippi River, Pools 13,14 and 10 beginning this spring. Is there anyone else that can consistantly cover some other bodies of water?

In my past experiences at the Rock River, I have caught many decent smallies between 12-14 inches. But i think you stand a better chance of catching one in the Green River.

the small mouth population in the rock is better than it has been in the last 10 years for sure ive caught alot of them fishing with cut bait for channel cats but a 4 pounder is very uncommon i mean very uncommon

The last few years there has been some really nice largemouth caught below the dixon dam. I have caught a couple that were around the 3lb mark but ive seen a few that were probably atleast 4lb. Ive never had much luck smallmouth fishing though.

for sure you get above the dixon damn on the rock and the smallies get bigger because of the catch and release that they had going up there for years. but i have caught several nice smallies and getting more and more large mouths on the lower rock.
