bamabass the tourney special rods are a decent rod.on the low end for sensitivity and action though. the extreme rods are more money but excellent for what they cost. ive got 7 and really happy with em. the reels i dont know much about cause i use the round style instead of low profile. id recommend a garcia 5000 or 5500 .ive still got my first 5500 i bought 26 years ago. its seen lots of fish and abuse and still works great.

bamabass again i cant help with the reels cause i dont know much about em. the bionic blade rods are a decent rod,i ve got a 7 1/2 ft mh i absolutely lovefor pitchin tubes to med heavy cover with. depends on what your wantin to do...the first combo seems a little on the light side. line capacity for size is small, the second is on the other side. a little heavy in the rod. for all around bass fishin id recommend a 7 ft med heavy rod and a reel rated for a decent amount of 14 lb test. the longer rod will allow you to throw lighter lures, med. heavy action will handle big cranks and some decent cover. the reel will handle lighter or slightly heavier line for different situations. i still recomend the extreme rods theres a world of difference over the bionic blade in feel and action but thats my preference. hope it helps

well i ended up not going to the bass pro shop a friend of mine told me about a place that was half the distance so i wouldnt have to drive 200 miles for a reel and rod. the place is called woods and waters and it was very nice, not as big as a bass pro but very nice. i ended up getting me a plueger trion and a berkley lightning MH rod. after church tomorrow me and a friend are leaven to go to that pond that i talked about haven all those bream and bass and campen up there and fishen the whole time so i cant wait.
