Hey everyone Im new but I am going Carping tomorow and wanted to see if you all had any advice? Well I normally am a bass or catfish fisherman, but its been so hot lately and Ive seen the carp around so Im shooting for them. I went there about an hour ago and chumed with corn used 15 ounce can and left. I am going tommorow at about 12ish did I do it right. I live in Illinois if that matters. So I have chumed the area a day before I am going, any advice?

best to chum a few days in a row or more to get them used to feeding there.when you get there to fish try to keep from fishing for an hour or so after you feed thatll get them feeding good and wont spook as much.gotta keep feedin as your fishin to keep em in the area too.

Welcome Chris! Joe (gofish) is definitly one of the best people around to listen to when it comes to fishing, his advice is always spot on and when you look over the site, you will see that everyone here
will share great advice, one thing about fishing, somone can always teach you a new trick and
IMO the members of this family definitly KNOW FISHING
Looking forward to hearing how you did
Carp are great fun & are about the only thing biting much around here as well
use light tackle and enjoy because they are definitly fighting fools!

Hope you get on some of those big carp. Did your friend with the cat show you how to do up the hair rig? I'm told that is the best way to seek them with corn.
I and the grandsons tried for them earlier with spring trebble hooks and wheat bread dough balls for a couple hrs. in the canal. I actually caught a 1 1/2 ft chanel cat on a dough ball but no carp. We were only out a couple hrs. and no chumming.
Let us know how the corn works out . Mike

Unfrotunately I got no Carp. It was a hot day in Illinois but I got nothing. Not even a bite. I followed all of the great advice you guys had and Im thankful but no luck. I was only out for about3 hours until I got told to leave because they were spraying around the area. I did manage to wander off and catch 4 nice bass on my watermellon u tale. Not a great day at all but still a fun time/

Chris posted some pics of trip I took to Prarie Rose only thing we saw caught out of that hot water along the bank was some carp, Dad had 2 girls
an is boy down there and they caught about 5 of them while we were there
that (just from my own view) looked to go about 10-13 lbs each, they were
really big
The bait they were tossing were red wigglers on very small hooks
