Welcome Diablo 100 to WIF we are glad to have you join the family,as
far as that bait goes,i have never tried one but i have found that if a
bait works once it will always catch fish, just maybe not every day,if you
have a choice of colors of that bait give them all a chance, conditions
change all the time. KIRK

I've used the mimmic minnow and caught some panfish but it worked the best after putting a little spinner on it.

Anyone ever tried the Banjo Minnow? Is it worth the $40?

I have never tried them Matt
I am always a bit leery of anything that is supposed to be a "magic fish catching" solution 40 bucks can buy you a lot of bait or gas to get out on the water an fish several times too

To my mind the best fish catching advice I can give you is to spend time on the water as much as you can

Try different things, talk to the fishermen that are out there, see what they are using and what is working

An remember one thing if you are looking for BIG fish

Big fish are not big because they are smart, big fish are big because they have feeding or movement patterns that keep them away from most fishermen

Catching big fish requires a lot of work and a lot of luck you need to move around
try some out of the way locations, if you can get topo maps of lakes that is great because they allow you to see the "roadways" and areas that fish will congregate at

Often times in fishing just the slightest little difference in structure can make a difference
in finding a honey hole or getting skunked

Looking forward to fishiing with you on the Rock! There is some guys I know I can learn a lot from gonna be there

To answer your question about the banjo minnows, I dont personally use them a lot, but one of my friends that I fish with often catches a decent number of fish on it, but I dont see the catching an obscene number of fish on it. So in short it catches fish, but it isn't anything special.
